Established in 1988, the Henry K. Hayase Prize is awarded annually to the best student paper or senior essay dealing with a topic relating to Asian American experiences in the United States. A faculty committee will select the winner who will be announced during the 2018 commencement ceremonies.
The Henry K. Hayase Prize was established by the friends and alumni of Henry K. Hayase who graduate from Yale College in 1973.
To apply for the Prize, please complete the application on the following page and submit your essay by the deadline: Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 5 pm.
- The Henry K. Hayase Prize is open only to students who are currently enrolled in Yale College.
- Only student papers and senior essays completed in Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 are eligible for consideration.
- Any essays that exceed the file size limit may be sent electronically via YaleBox or the Yale Secure File Transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org.
