Established in 1988, the Henry K. Hayase Prize is awarded annually to the best student paper or senior essay dealing with a topic relating to Asian American experiences in the United States. A faculty committee selects the winner, who is announced during the commencement ceremonies.
The Henry K. Hayase Prize was established by the friends and alumni of Henry K. Hayase who graduated from Yale College in 1973.
