Yale’s Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity, and Transnational Migration (RITM) will bestow the Yale Bassett Award for Community Engagement on a select number of high school juniors in the United States (class of 2019).
The student application deadline is February 2, 2018. Recommenders, who will automatically receive a prompt upon submission of the student form, must complete their portion of the application by February 12, 2018.
Award winners will demonstrate a record of creative leadership and public service, academic distinction, interdisciplinary problem solving, and experience addressing societal issues including, but not limited to, race and racism. Students with non-traditional leadership experiences or significant work experiences are encouraged to apply.
