Alexa De La Fuente (she/her/hers) is a first-year Ph.D. student in the American Studies and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies programs. She graduated from Brown University (CO '23) with degrees in Ethnic Studies and Education. Her work revolves around Latinx visual culture with a specific interest in narratives and ideologies on gender-based violence. Her prior research projects have included an analysis of televisual representations of Latina survivors of gender-based violence, as a Mellon Mays undergraduate fellow, and cyberfeminist campaigns in Latin America, as an Esperanza United research fellow. She also loves to crochet while watching horror movies.
