Ph.D. Student, Classics

Ziming Liu
Ziming Liu
Ziming completed her BA(Hons) and MA at Victoria University of Wellington and is currently a first-year graduate student in Classics. She is primarily interested in the ways in which the uses and perceptions of the Ancient World has, and continues to, shape and inform diverse identities in contemporary society – particularly in a postcolonial context. Her past research projects have revolved around the work of Christchurch artist Marian Maguire, as well as the connection between space and collective memory in the Athenian Agora. Ultimately, Ziming hopes to contribute to the increasingly introspective and self-reflexive scholarship within Classics, working to make the field more accessible and welcoming to people from all walks of life.
