Devin Zyaire Williams (he/him) is a first-year PhD student in the Departments of African American Studies and Sociology. He is broadly interested in race and ethnicity; diversity, equity, and inclusion; higher education; and, liberatory educational philosophies. For his undergraduate thesis at Rutgers University, “Programs, Practices, and Politics: Assessing the Inequities of the U.S. Higher Education Through the Black Professoriate”, Devin examined the inequitable practices and policies that shape the agency, mobility, and careers of Black Assistant and Associate professors at Research 1 Universities.
