Elizabeth Blackmore is a first year PhD student in the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She is interested in the historical ecology of global pathogen circulation. In particular, she studies the impact of human migration and mobility on the ecology, evolution and epidemiology of acute respiratory pathogens such as influenza, measles, and smallpox.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Arts in Historical Research from Durham University, United Kingdom. She completed post baccalaureate training in Biology at Rutgers University and graduated with a Master of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
