Jorge Banuelos is a third-year joint doctoral student between the departments of Religious Studies and African American Studies in Yale’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Jorge works as a historian and theorist of African American religious history. His interests include the enmeshment of spirituality and politics in Black religious experience, Africana philosophy of religion, Black radicalisms, and historical political economy. He is currently working on a religious history of Anglophone Pan-Africanism in the eighteenth century. Jorge is a RITM graduate fellow from 2021.
