Niv is a first year doctoral student in the History of Science and Medicine (HSHM) Program, where she studies the history of computing and its influences on race, migration, and state power in the twentieth century. Her work is centered in the United States and its ties to South Asia and the broader global South through transnational exchanges of knowledge and labor.
Before coming to Yale, Niv worked in community archives and immigrants’ rights. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science and History from Caltech.
