Uyen Phuong Dang is a PhD student in Sociocultural Anthropology. Based between Da Lat and Saigon, Vietnam, her research is largely interested in Vietnamese futurities, cities, and acts of memorialization as they play out at the intersections of speculative anthropology, urban-memory studies, and the arts. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Dartmouth College, and was a Fulbright recipient to Vietnam in 2022, where she approached questions of land, memory, lineage, war, and inheritance through ethnography and fiction writing. During that time, she was also a community programs organizer (2022-2024) for Sàn Art, a Saigon-based collective dedicated to uplifting Vietnamese artists.
