RITM hosts a wide array of programming throughout the year including conferences, symposia, workshops, lectures, and other public events. One of the most robust programmatic features of our center is our fellowship program. We support scholars at all levels of their career trajectory, from undergraduates, postdoctoral fellows, first year graduate fellows, and early and advanced faculty across the university.

Pedagogy Workshop Series

The RITM Center partnered with colleagues at Brown University, University of Chicago, and Stanford University to organize a Teaching Race Graduate Fellowship that gathers doctoral students across institutions interested in improving their pedagogical practices. Fellows from all four campuses participate in faculty-led workshops that explored theory, anti-racist pedagogies, and concrete strategies for difficult classroom conversations about race and other topics.

Seminar Series

RITM supports and promotes interdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate seminars that highlight critical scholarship related to race, indigeneity, and transnational migration. Each course brings leading researchers to campus for classroom discussions and public lectures.

Distinguished Lectures

Each year, RITM invites a distinguished lecturer for a multi-day visit to speak with groups of students and present public lectures.

Panels, Talks, and Workshops

As part of our mission to engage with scholars across the campus, we host and co-sponsor panels, talks, and workshops in collaboration with many centers, academic units, and student organizations.

RITM was my first community at Yale and it’s where I have found an amazing group of scholars as well as lifelong friends.
