As part of the Centering Race Consortium, Brown University, Stanford University, University of Chicago, and Yale University jointly organized a series of workshops for PhD students and will be hosting the 5th annual series this Fall. Graduate fellows will receive a stipend for participating in remote workshops exploring theory and praxis in anti-racist pedagogy, with a special emphasis on concrete strategies for supporting difficult conversations in the classroom. Guest speakers will include professors from all 4 universities. There will be 9 sessions held on Mondays including September 28, October 5, October 19, October 26, November 2, November 9, November 16, November 30 & December 7 from 3-4:30pm EST/ 2-3:30 CT/ 12-1:30pm PST. Fellows will be expected to complete short readings (roughly one article in length) in advance of each session. Additionally, fellows are expected to create a draft syllabus for a course on a topic of their choosing that is tailored to a specific projected audience.
